A trio of the club's sprinters were the quickest out of the blocks to return to track competition as Lee Valley resumed it's annual April Open in line with the latest phase of lockdown-easing.
Brandon Mingeli completed a 100m & 200m double in elite fields, placing 2nd in both with times of 10.56s and 21.18s just behind Olympian CJ Ujah in the 200m.
Luke Moore had his first test over 300m in the A race and was well ahead of the rest at the start of the finish straight, but his endurance failed him from then on, and he slowed down to finish in 5th position (38.41s). This first time out PB should definitely get a massive upgrade when he next competes over the distance.
Wole Odele's first outing of the season, was in the 3rd heat of the mixed 400m race. He was in 3rd place as the stagger unwound on the final straight, but slowed down a bit less than the runner in front to secure 2nd place in 59.08s with about half a second to spare.
