Road Running

Cambridge Harriers is a true athletics club with a variety of disciplines but naturally focused on youth and track and field, however, we have a vibrant road running section too. Structured training is undertaken on Tuesday evenings at Sutcliffe Park track, Kidbrooke, under lead coach Glynis Penny. The group comprises mixed ability runners who focus mainly on road running and undertake interval and tempo sessions. Training commences at 6 pm and newcomers are most welcome join in with this group.

We also have a looser and social run from our Clubhouse in Bexley on Wednesday evenings at 7 pm. These sessions are really for the more socially-minded members and comprise local hill sessions, tempo runs and steadies, and provides a welcoming entry to club running.  If you are interested, please contact Keith Dungate.

As a club, we participate in a summer midweek league and relay events. Our individuals regularly shine in the Kent Road Running League and we have introduced our own club Road Running League based around races across the South East. We have balloted entries into the London Marathon and The Big Half.

If you want to develop your training for fast racing, for your first half or full marathon, or to progress from Parkruns and achieve a personal ambition then there is a place for you within Cambridge Harriers.
