It was another depleted squad that made their way to Beckenham for the first of the two South of the Thames races. A year ago when this venue hosted the 7.5 mile race the golf course had only recently been closed but now, after a year of neglect, fairways, greens, rough and bunkers were only barely distinguishable. David Reader was first home for us, followed by Josh Lawless who had an excellent run to finish ahead of both Tarbo Fukazawa and Mark Penny. Team scoring is for the first four in this one on which basis we were 17th. 17th? you ask, surely that can’t be right? Well, it should really be 10th but multiple teams from the same club are included here, of the 16 that beat us 5 were from host club Kent AC, but at least we beat their "F" team!
