For the third match in a row we were blessed with wonderful weather and the boys put in a performance to match the sunshine.
The blue track at Dartford was the setting to 13 top 3 places across A & B strings and at least 12 PB’s for our U13 boys.
Stand out performances were Joshua Jackson (yet again) claiming the sprint double, Jack Adams running a mature race for a 4 second PB 800m (3rd in the A string) and Ben Tranter PB’ing with every one of his 3 long jumps.
Aidan Newton, Jack Adams and Ben Tranter were all vital team members in the throws, each one of them claiming at least one PB. The jumps were also a success, Aidan doing well on his long jump debut, as well as Joshua and Ben bettering their previous outings in the high jump.
In addition to Jack’s PB in the 800m there were also brave middle distance efforts elsewhere. Aidan narrowly missed out in a 3 way sprint for the line in the 800m B string and Dontay Thomas stepped massively out of his sprinting comfort zone to earn vital points as the 1500m A string.
Tomisin was again our only hurdler, securing 3rd place before taking the NS 100m spot.
For the 3rd match in a row our 4×100 relay team was successful again, Dontay, Ben and Joshua being ever present, with Tomisin coming in to fill the 2nd leg slot.
The Man of the Match trophy for this match goes to Dontay Thomas for being a real team man and stepping in to do the 1500m just 30 minutes before running leg one of the Relay.
