London Mini Marathon (Sat. 25th Apr.)
Thirty-two of our young athletes proudly represented their boroughs in this year’s London Mini Marathon, reports Mark Newell, taking on the iconic 2.6 km course from Horse Guards Parade to the finish along The Mall.
There were some fantastic individual performances to celebrate. Charlotte Foster and Lizzie Sanders led the way in the under-16 girls’ race, securing an outstanding second and third place respectively.
The under-18 women’s race saw a thrillingly close finish, with just one second separating Meri Cummins (10th) and Celia Allen (11th).
Strong performances were also recorded by Max Foster (14th, under-14 boys), Oliver Cook (17th, under-18 men), and Nula English (18th, under-14 girls), highlighting the depth of talent across all age groups.
In the team event, the under-16 girls delivered an excellent collective performance, finishing 5th out of 18 London boroughs.
A huge congratulations to all athletes who took part and represented their boroughs with determination and pride.
