IFAM Outdoor, Oordegem (BEL) (Sat. 1st Aug.)

On Saturday, Holly Dixon shaved three seconds off her 1500m personal best, finishing sixth in her race in Belgium with a time of 4:05.14. The performance also set a new senior women's club record, subject to the record being formally claimed and ratified.

Borrowdale Fell Race, Rosthwaite (Sat. 1st Aug.)

Christian Poulton and I travelled to Rosthwaite for the Borrowdale Fell Race, writes James Floyd, one of the classic Lakeland fell races

The 27 km course includes over 2,000 m of climbing over rough and technical terrain, taking runners via Bessy Boot, Scafell Pike, Great Gable, Honister and Dale Head.

My first attempt in 2025 had been my toughest fell race to date, and I finished in 5:54:41 in sweltering heat. This year, conditions were much kinder, with cooler temperatures and clear visibility. Despite feeling stronger throughout, my choice of shoes caused problems on the rough terrain. I finished 157th of 188 finishers in 5:14:49, improving my time by almost 40 minutes.

Christian had completed the Beacons Way 100-mile race the previous week and had not fully recovered. He suffered on the harsh descents but battled on to finish 175th in 5:36:25.

Hercules Wimbledon 5000m PB Festival, Wimbledon Park (Sat. 1st Aug.)

Kyle Hurst and Terry Stark both achieved new personal bests at the Hercules Wimbledon 5000m PB Festival. Kyle recorded a time of 15:53.00, while Terry clocked 17:38.01, with both athletes producing impressive performances.

Youth Development League (Lower), Eltham (Sat. 1st Aug.)

The final YDL fixture of the season saw the team finish in a solid third place on the day, reports Mick Bond, securing third place overall in the division. Holidays and injuries, both in the lead-up to the match and on the day itself, once again took their toll, but there were still plenty of excellent individual performances.

In the field, highlights included a superb 17.59m shot put from Obinna Aniebo, a 1.48m high jump by Udoka Mokwenye, and a 4.96m long jump from Lizzie McKen.

On the track, Jovanni Lindsey completed an impressive sprint double, winning the 200m in 22.95 and the 300m in 37.33. Lizzie McKen claimed victory in the 80m hurdles with a time of 12.43, while Under-14 athlete Kali-London Naguin ran 13.18 for the 100m, moving her to the top of the club rankings.
