British Masters Track & Field Championships, Derby (13th - 15th Sept.)
A handful of the clubs masters athletes made the trip to Derby for the British Masters Track & Field Championships, coming away with two gold, one silver and three bronze medals.
It was M40 gold for Chris Loudon over 1500m, leading from gun to tape, clocking a time of 4:03.23s. Wole Odele secured the other gold for the club in the M60 400m in a new age-group club record of 57.55s and claimed bronze in the 100m (13.23s).
Natalie Mann (W40) collected three medals - silver in the discus (25.94m) and bronze in the javelin (19.28m) and in the hammer, with a club record mark of 35.32m.
SEAA Fell Running Championships, Isle of Wight (Sat. 13th & Sun. 14th Sept.)
The average age of the Cambridge contingent at these championships took a welcome nosedive this year, reports Clem Dixon, as the usual suspects were joined not only by first timer Dan Allison (34) but also by Sophie Floyd who is just 14. Sophie was only eligible to run the first and shortest of the three races but she finished with a big smile and came away with a silver medal in the under 18 category. Regular readers who have been thinking to themselves 'I would like to have a go at fell running but...' should perhaps take note.

Sophie Floyd - Dan Allison
Dan was our top performer finishing 22nd in the table for combined results over the three races, Sophie's dad James smashed all three of his debut times from last year, even beating Christian Poulton in the third and longest race; perhaps Christian's gruelling race schedule was at last catching up with him. Dan, Christian and James were our three to score team finishing 4th, so no medals there but in addition to Sophie's silver Clem Dixon picked up the SEAA bronze in the M60 category. (Results)
South of England Inter Counties, Horspath, Oxford (Sun. 14th Sept.)
Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, writes Mick Bond, Kendrick Onolememen (U15) won the discus at the Inter-Counties match at Horspath in Oxfordshire with a throw of 58.55m adding exactly 2 metres to his PB, the club record and the UK all-time-rankings. Just for good measure, he achieved 16.77m in the shot to go to the top of the UK rankings in that event as well. All when at the bottom of his age group!
Other good performances on the day included a win for Elijah Olaleye in the 400 hurdles in 53.38s, a second place for Michael Bridge in the Under 17 shot (15.75m) and third places for Waylon Lee in the Under 15 boys 200m (25.51s) and Daniel Obike in the Under 17 boys high jump (1.95m).
Worcester Half Marathon (Sun. 14th Sept.)
Worcester maybe most famous for it's sauce but this year the city's half marathon was used as a source to provide England Masters half marathon athletes for 2026, reports James Macdonald.
Four Cambridge Harriers travelled half way across the country to compete. James Macdonald was 9th overall and 2nd in his age group running 1:13:28, followed in my Phil Dickens in 1:18:50 and 35th overall.
For the ladies Jules Backley ran 1:32:28 for a new PB finishing 30th female and 4th in her age group and Rose Baker with an excellent 1:37:07, 3rd in age group. James and Rose have qualified to run for England Masters in 2026.
