Updated: May 15, 2021

Mid week Brandon Mingeli added a windy 10.41 to his resumé at the Lee Valley Sprints meet. On the weekend a lot of the middle distance runners competed at Gillingham. In a very close 1500 Amelia Lawrence (5.13.11) just pipped under 13 Iris Williams (5,13.16) At the same meet Holly Dixon ran 2.15.70 over 800, whilst Abigail ran her first 3k track race in 11.13.13

At the Ted Pepper 10k at Bromley, a staggered start system allowed the race to run and five club members competed all finishing in the top 10 in their respective age groups. Best performances were Susan Dixon (1st W55 in 43.46), Christian Poulton (2nd M55 in 38.43) and Sally Carr 3rd (W45 in 46.53)

Next weekend sees the Kent Track and Field championships happening at Ashford. Operating on a Covid secure footing, the event won’t quite be what it was in the past but it is a further step closer to normal competition. Thirty five club members have entered 46 events across the weekend with an interesting breakdown across age groups as follows Men:- Seniors 5 athletes, U20 4, U17 3, U15 0.
