Having recently had a birthday, the team welcomed Lucy Marlow with an 800m! the pace was fast from the start and Lucy went with it to finish 2nd in 2:37. In the `B’ race Sally Carr finished 3rd whilst in the W50’s Susan Dixon out sprinted two others in the home straight to take 1st . In the W60’s 880m it was nice to Ros Tabor back, and back to form with another 1st . On the field it was yet another 1st place in the High Jump for Christine Bond in between throwing the discus where she finished 3rd dropping down an age group to W35. Jenny Agypong in the W50’s discus got 2nd and Anna Rowland 3rd place on little training. Long jump was Joanne and Ros, we didn’t have any W35’s in either the HJ or LJ which lost us points but those that were there made up for them. 100m’s W35 Susan Dixon dropping an age group yet again finishing 4th, whilst in the B, Lisa Atkinson took 3rd. W50’s saw Joanne Murphy also taking 3rd.
The 4 x 200m relay had a good start with Susan Dixon passing to Joanne Murphy, Christine Bond handed over to Lisa Atkinson and a brave run to finish 4th against some very experienced sprint teams. Hey, guess what, we got the inside lane for once, oh wait a minute, that was for the 100m when it didn’t really count anyway, anyone keeping note will know CH ladies so often get given the outside lane!
Thanks go out to Stephanie Dungate and Maria McDonald for coming and officiating, plus off course Barry – so often there for us.
Another year with the same result at the end: Tonbridge 1st, Dartford 2nd, Cambridge 3rd.
Thank you to all who took part this year either completing, volunteering or supporting. We are a lovely team and that measures first place in my book.
Look out for next years dairy dates!
