North Downs Run

Just two of us took on this great 30k trail race this year.

A change of venue from the usual leisure centre to the Cyclopark meant that the first and last 5k were different, and at least relatively flat, unlike the old course which had a real sting in the tail, but the central section was as challenging and scenic as ever.

Once again this race hosted the British Masters Athletics Federation trail championship which meant that the standard at the older end of the age spectrum was particularly high with aged runners coming from across the country: the first M50 and first M60 were 12th and 13th overall, the latter having travelled from Swansea.

Spare a thought for Christian Poulton who had been looking forward to this one for weeks only to get a message on his NHS COVID App telling him to isolate.

82nd Clem Dixon 2:36:30 (3rd M60)

264th Steve Brown 3:09:47 (16th M60)
