Kent Indoor Championships

The club’s youngsters went to Lee Valley a week after the Masters and did equally well. Summary of results as follows

Senior men Wade Thompson just missed out on the medals in the 60m running 7.12 for 4th place, Frano Vainio Doiseul travelled down from Loughborough and ran 50.96 for silver in the 400m

Under 20 men We had a one, two in the high Jump with Luke Okosieme taking gold with 1.96m and Brandon Sikity clearing 1.95m for silver.

Under 17 men. Johnel Simpson showed the benefit of some regular training with a big pb of 7.24 to take silver in the 60m

Under 15 Boys. Alex MacHeath won the 1k walk in a championship best of 4.29.05 with Christian Hopper second in 5.16.07

Senior women. Doyin Aderinto got a silver medal in the 60m in a new PB of 7.99 whilst Natalie Mann won silver in the Shot Put

Under 20 women Kera Jean Francois took the U20 60m crown in 8.00 whilst Jade Fitt got silver in the 400 (59.74) and Molly Hawkins silver in the 800 with a tactical 2.36.23

Under 17 women. Esther Jackson not only took our third 60m gold to win the Under 17 event in a pb of 7.81 but also won the 200 in 25.80. In the field there was a win for Nana Gyedu in the shot Put (12.73) with Abbie Stewart 4th with 11.05m and there was silver for Ayanna Henry in the Long Jump with 5.00m dead. Hannah Hopper won the 1k walk in 5.32.45

Under 15 Girls. Marian Owusuwah and Bryanna Kacou both made the final of the 60m and Bryanna also took silver in the 200 with a pb of 27.77. Hannah Atkinson raced for a creditable bronze in the 1k walk with a time of 5.36.52. Kacey Walters also got bronze and a new pb in the shot put with a throw of 9.69.
