Updated: Jan 12, 2021

Forecast to be the hottest ever Early May Bank Holiday Monday, it was no surprise to see a horde of sprinters descend on Tooting Bec in what turned out to be ideal sprinting conditions culminating in a total of 21 100m races and 19 200m races! Seven Harriers competed in a total of 8 events.

Highlights of the meeting were a PB  of 55.85s for Myles Duffus in the 400m and season’s bests for Wole Odele (25.94s), Tim Carter (65.85s) and Katie Marsh (23.60m) in the 200m, 400m and Javelin, respectively.

The 400m was the most popular event on the day for Cambridge Harriers, featuring Myles, Tim and Wole, who was doing the dreaded sprinters double. Myles and Wole were in the same race with Myles winning to knock off 0.14s off his 2-week old PB. Ros Tabor competed in the mile race, finishing in 6:38.31.

The field events featured sisters Sophie Fenner and Katie in the Hammer and Javelin respectively with Sophie recording her second best throw ever of 29.76m, just shy of her PB recorded 2 days earlier. Eddie Brown competed in the 700g Javelin competition with a winning throw of 41.29m.
