Southern Indoor Champs

Luke Okosieme shined at the recent South of England Indoor Championships winning both the Under 17 event on Jan 8th and Under 20 event on Jan 15th. In the first he set a new PB with a first time clearance of 1.96 whilst on the second he cleared 1.95 but failed three times in attempts at 2 metres. He jumps again this Saturday at the London Indoor Games.

Over 60m there were mixed fortunes for our sprinters. Vera Chinedu now training at Oaklands college won her heat and semi final but then just got edged out in the final by one hundredths of a second running a PB of 7.50 to the winners 7.49. Omari Markland Montgomery made the second round of the men’s 60 running 7.01 in both races as did Rhys Francis in the Under 20 event (7.25 and 7.27) but Frano Vainnio Doisseul got knocked out in the first round with 7.22.
