Well done to Danny Kendall for coming third in the North Downs Run. This year there was an added incentive for running a fast time with England’s World Cup match due to kick off two and a half hours after the start. The bone dry course helped but the soaring temperatures took their toll on many, not Danny though, who with multiple Marathon de Sables finishes to his name took it all in his stride. Danny finished in plenty of time for kick-off but by the time Christian and I crawled into the sports centre bar with the big telly England were already two nil up in their demolition of Panama.
