Dartford Half Marathon

On a busy weekend for race races across Kent, the very popular Dartford Half Marathon reached a milestone as one of the longest running annual road races in the county, celebrating its 40th anniversary. The race started in misty and chilly conditions, but finished in bright spring sunshine on the newly surfaced blue running track at Dartford Central Park. There was a good turn-out from Cambridge Harriers with several club members using the race as preparation for spring marathons. Dave Reader was the first man home, clearly benefiting from his London Marathon training, achieving third place in the M40 age category.
