Harrow AC Race Night

Updated: Oct 11, 2020

BANNISTER STADIUM, HARROW 24 SEP 2020

4 Hardy Harriers made the long journey right across London to the Bannister Stadium for the 2nd in the series of Harrow AC Race Nights, this time featuring 800m, 1500m and Long Jump. It was fairly still but the track was damp from light rain which had stopped about an hour before the races commenced, however, this did not deter Holly Dixon (top image) and Edmund Adigwe from setting new PBs in the 1500m and 800m, respectively. They might even have been marginally faster, as they must have started to reach for their stopwatches just before triggering the finish line camera. Wole Odele also had his fastest 800m run in over 2 years.

Edmund (5th) in 800m Heat 10

Holly chalked off over 4 seconds from her previous time to finish as fastest female in her heat in 4:32.44 and was also second fastest female overall from the 12 1500m races.

Edmund was competing in the M45 age group for the first time and improved by 0.18s on his previous time set at Dartford last weekend to finish in 2:03.38. This performance moves him straight up to 3rd position in the national rankings for the age group.

Matthew (3rd) and Wole (7th) in 800m Heat 8

Matthew Preston and Wole Odele were seeded in the same 800m heat, with Matthew finishing 3rd in 2:13.41 and Wole 7th in 2:15.21
