ECCA Saucony English National Relay Championships, Mansfield

The English Cross Country relays were held on Saturday at Mansfield and Cambridge Harriers were represented by a single women's team of three, reports Sally Carr, Holly Dixon, Megan Marchant and Sabrina Sinha.

The venue was busy with 139 teams just in the women's race. Holly ran the first 3k leg, finding it difficult in the narrow mass start but maintaining a good position and handing over to Megan who ran a strong second leg. Sabrina completed the final leg bringing the team home in a very respectable sixth place considering the quality of the field which included Steph Twell, Abbie Donnelly and Gemma Steel.

Results: 6th Team - 31:14. Holly 10:00, Megan 10:49 & Sabrina 10:27.

Reigate Priory Cross Country Relays, Reigate

Grey, misty and wet was the order of the day for the Reigate Relays on Saturday, reports Danny Easton. Luke Ford, Bobby Babaker, Danny Easton and Tarbo Fukazawa toed the line for the event which returned to Priory Park for the 66th time.

A hilly course: a mixture of grass, path and field of just over 2.5 miles was challenging, at times technical and a lot of fun.

A gutsy start from Luke on first leg had us up to 10th place, Bobby ran the teams fastest leg getting us up to 6th, Danny managed to hold on to some of it before Tarbo closed things out with a fantastic speedy run.

We look forward to returning next year!

Results: 9th Team - 1:05:49. Luke 16:02, Bobby 15:19, Danny 17:54 & Tarbo 16:34.
