Mizuno Podium 5k (incl. 1 Mile Challenge), Battersea Park (Wed. 31st Dec.)

Emer Tynan (U20) shaved a handful of seconds off her 5km road personal best, clocking 19:29 to finish 42nd overall in the elite women’s race.


Serpentine New Year's Day 10k, Hyde Park (Thur. 1st Jan.)

Christian Poulton was the Club’s sole representative in the traditional New Year's Day10km road race, held on the traffic-free paths through Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens, where he finished 78th in a time of 40:46.



Indoor Action Round-up

The indoor season gathered pace over the past week, reports Mick Bond with open meetings held at Lee Valley, Sutton, Thames Valley and Sutcliffe. The club’s promotional events at Sutcliffe were particularly well attended, with 26 athletes competing in the high jump (including eight from the club) and 47 entries in the hurdles, of which 12 were from Cambridge Harriers.


Highlights from the various events were:


Lee Valley, 1 January:

400m – Elijah Olaleye 50.36; Gabby Noyce 63.18.


Sutcliffe, 3 January:

High jump – Daniel Obike 1.92m; Phoebe Folarin 1.62m.


60m hurdles – Hans Nmaju (U20) 8.18; Elijah Olaleye (U20) 8.50; Nia Thomas (U17) 8.90; Lizzie McKen (U17) 9.33; Maxwell Guezodje (U15) 9.22.


Lee Valley, 4 January:

60m hurdles – Ekene Ogbonna (U20) 8.48.
