National Relay Championships, Birmingham (Sun. 23rd Aug.)
England Athletics organised the event for the third year, in conjunction with Birchfield Harriers, inviting teams based on their National Ranking. We were invited to send five teams this year.
The club’s top performances came in the Under-18 age groups, with both teams securing gold.
First up were the U18 Women’s 4 x 100m team of Tess Hepple, Danielle Agyemang-Tolbert, Taraoluwa Adeeso and Emily Cadman, who clocked an impressive 46.90 to take the title ahead of Shaftesbury Barnet and Woodford Green.
Later in the day, our U18 Men’s 4 x 400m team of Immanuel Jegede, Rhys Joyeux, Zavier Brathwaite and Hans Nmaju also struck gold, crossing the line in 3:22.29.

The Pacers 5000, Southwark Park (Fri. 21st Aug.)
Twelve club runners travelled to Southwark Park on Friday evening for The Pacers 5000, with nine coming away with personal bests.
Fastest Harrier on the night was Kyle Hurst, who clocked a personal best of 15:38.40. Also recording personal bests were Tom Irwin (16:40.65), Christopher Davis (16:59.37), Simon Branch (16:59.69), Terry Stark (17:03.95), James Pitts (17:20.87), Charlie Finch (17:57.90), Will Longhurst (18:37.89) and our only female competitor on the night, Maelle Guerre (20:08.39).
There were also season's best performances for Mattia Bernardi (16:23.01), Lewis Baker (16:28.80) and Christian Poulton (20:10.10).
