Lara Atkinson won the first round of the KCCL U17/20 Women’s race at Stanhill Farm on Saturday. She was always in contention and controlled things from the front. In the U20s race Molly Hawkins was second more than a minute behind Lara with Jade Fitt 4th. Ailbhe Barnes made a good start to the U15s with a 4th place finish and Ethan Fiore in 7th lead the U13 boys to a 5th place finish. However Theo Treadwell making his cross country debut was the star here coming through to 33rd, just shading James Barnes who finished strongly in 14th. The U15 boys saw our two debutants Ayub Salaad and John Okomayin finish together in 24th & 25th places with Louis Woods having a strong run to 31st. In the U17 boys Joshua dropped out whilst in the top 7 so it was left to Evan Chandler to lead the team home in 29th. Madeline Tynan lead the U13 girls team in a fine 12th place with the many debutants finding the racing hard. We had 32 junior club members take part which is well up on 24 of last year.
