Kent Cross Country League

In the under 13s race, Madeline Tynan finished inside the top ten for the first time this season. She was backed up by Claudia Tremble, making her first appearance for the club, together with Emilia Pigott and Katie Marsh. In the team competition we were 9th of ten teams.

Our team in the under 15 girls race was made up of Hannah Hopper, Renay Thomas and Jamaica Williams, with the latter two much prefer sprinting, but using the cross country season as a means of building strength for the track season. The team finished 7th of 7 teams. Before the under 17 women's race, a minutes silence was held, in order to remember the lives of the two young female athletes from AFD, who were so tragically killed 5 days earlier when crossing a road on a red light.

Ella Newton made her first appearance for the club this season and had an excellent run to finish in second place. 10 seconds behind her was Lara Atkinson, who also ran an excellent race, to take third place and in so doing recorded her highest finishing position in a Kent cross country match. Ciara Mitchell completed the team to enable us to finish second in the team competition.

Molly Hawkins was our only competitor in the under 20 women's race, finishing in 6th position.
