Joydens Wood 10 mile XC

After two second places in this series of races, Chris Loudon managed to go one better in the 10 miler and to get his hands on one of the more impressive of the club's trophies: 100 years old this year! The result was never in much doubt: Chris opened up a lead right from the start and got under the one hour mark with a few seconds to spare, the winning margin was six minutes. Shaw Lydon of Dartford Road Runners was second with Luke Ford and Christian Poulton in third and fourth taking the silver and bronze medals in the club championships.

The first female was Christine Lutsch who joined Cambridge just a few days ago having run in the 7.5 miler under her first claim triathlon club. Second was Liz Pepper of Crystal Palace Fun Runners, third Bexley's Kirsty McEwen.

A warm welcome to another new member: Guy Swarbreck in 8th place was running as unattached in the 7.5 but was in light blue this time round.

This being the last of the three race series we also handed out the trophy for the best overall finisher over the three, we exclude those that have won one or more of the individual trophies otherwise this too would have gone to Chris, as it was it was a close run thing between Luke and Christian with Christian just edging it.

Once again the over 70s division was well represented with Vernon Thomas (Greenwich Tritons) again getting the better of Cambridge's Peter Hadley.
