Last Saturday’s Greenwich Parkrun included the first of four mini-marathons trials to select the youngsters who will represent the Royal Borough of Greenwich at the Virgin Money London mini-marathon on April 23rd. Befittingly, the first finisher, Joshua OLAWUNMI (JM15-17) of Cambridge Harriers, was one of those vying for a mini-marathon place and with a finish time of 17:11 on his first parkrun, must surely have cemented a place in the Greenwich team and we hope to see him again.
The first two female placings were taken up by mini-marathon trialists, both from local club, Cambridge Harriers and both setting new PBs. Lara ATKINSON (JW15-17) was first (10th overall) through the funnel in 19:20 – her third time of being first female in 6 appearances here. Ailbhe BARNES (JW11-14) was second female (13th overall) to finish in 19:46. Madeline TYNAN (JW10) of Cambridge Harriers was 4th in a new PB on her third run.
