The club was sad to learn of the passing of long-serving club member Danny Coffey last week.
Danny excelled in ultra races, and was rarely beaten in his age category as veteran runner competing over the longer distances. In June 1987 he ran a staggering 1810.512km during an eighteen day road race to win the M55 category, finish first Brit, and third overall in the Sri Chimnoy Ultra Trio which started at Flushing Meadow New York. Danny’s funeral will take place at 2pm on Wednesday 21st December 2016 at St Thomas Moore R C Church, Long Lane, Bexley. Susan Faith and Danny’s sister, Ruth, have said all club members are welcome to pay their respects.
