Race Walking

Race walking is an Olympic event which requires precision and discipline to make sure you maintain a good technique to comply with the rules.

Cambridge Harriers race walking section is a friendly group that has individuals and teams achieving success at every level. Training and competition is available for beginners, juniors, seniors and masters.

Coach Noel Carmody has many years of experience and has coached athletes at all levels.

Training takes place on a Tuesday and Thursday from 6.30pm at Sutcliffe Park Track. Extra sessions are held on a Saturday morning in Sutcliffe Park and Sunday mornings in Greenwich Park or Sutcliffe Park.

All are welcome, and athletes from other disciplines are encouraged to come along and have a try. A number of the clubs race walkers who have earned selection to international teams (GB & England) have not started their athletic journey as race walkers, but having given it a try, realised that it was an event that they had a talent for.
